DESCRIPTION: We will be exploring gravel, Class 4, and forest trails in Ferrisburgh, Bristol, Monkton, Hinesburg, and Starksboro. ACAR events are free and all rider levels are welcome to join us. BYOB or favorite beverage we will have coolers with ice so that your beverages will be cold when we return.
We will be offering 2 groups. Group A riders will be riding the ~58 mile course with an average speed of 12-15 mph. Group B* riders will be riding ~42 mile course with an average speed of 10-12 mph. Ride time for both groups should be between 4-5 hours.
*NOTE- The B Group will largely be no drop however, you can always ride ahead. There will be a ride leader that will sweep and lead this ride. This will be a great group if you have wanted to give gravel riding a try. The short course is shorter and less technical than the A Group ride.
There will be one optional stop on both routes. For the A Group there will be a stop at Huntington General Store around mile 28 and for the B Group a stop at Almost Home in Bristol at about mile 32.
Be prepared to be self-sufficient on this ride and resolve any mechanicals you may have during the course of the ride. You can not rely on cell reception and there will be limited facilities.
Routes are self-navigation and WILL NOT be marked so plan accordingly. We will provide GPS files of the course prior to the event.
