Frog Hollow Bikes strives to become the cycling hub of Addison County, while there is always more to do and be involved in FHB works to take an active role in all things bicycle from events, teaching students, to local advocacy issues.

FHB has provided support for the Kelly Brush Ride, Tour De Farms, TAM Trek, Vermont Gran Fondo, VT SUN Tri Series, Vermont Forest Fondo, Human Powered Parade, Ripton Ridge Run and more over the years. We will continue to work with the great organizations and people who put on these great events.

FHB has been an active participant in the Safe Routes to School Program. Since 2016 FHB has hosted a Bike Swap, benefiting the Safe Routes to School Program.

FHB has had the opportunity to share our bicycle knowledge from local students to home mechanics. We have taught bicycle safety to Ripton Elementary Students, teaching them about bicycle safety checks and wearing proper safety equipment. We have taught local high school student interns here at the shop. We have also taught a number of workshops over the years, keep an eye out for our Spring Bicycle Workshops.

FHB is an active member of the local mountain bike club, Addison County Bike Club (ACBC), hosting the monthly meetings and participating on local trail work events.

5 Town Riders

In partnership with the Bristol Recreation Department, 5 Town Riders is a central community cycling club that aims to support youth riders (5th-12th Grade) as they develop individual bike skills in a team-focused environment. We offer skills training and trail rides in a group setting from June – October.  The club also dedicates time for Trail & Service work in our local community to give back to the landowners whose property we ride on and to teach the team about caring for the land and general trail/earth stewardship.

5 Town Riders welcome grades 5-12 to ride with us this summer/fall.  If you are interested in racing, which is optional, with the 5 Town Rider then please register in addition with VTYC ( https://www.vtyouthcycling.org/ ).

A good working mountain bike with front/full suspension and hand brakes is a must, and your own transportation to training and races is a plus. The 5TR and BRD offer a free bike library for riders in need of a bike to use. Please contact the BRD to set up a bike for the season.Register with 5TR here:

E-Bike Lending Program

The Ilsley Public Library partners with Frog Hollow Bikes, Local Motion, and Middlebury Safe Routes to loan out three e-bikes. E-bikes have an electric assist that helps riders get around with less effort and scale hills that previously seemed impossible. For the 2023 season, e-bikes are available to borrow from May 10 through October 27.
